Jill Hudspeth Journals

It is not the magnitude of our actions but the amount of love that is put into them that matters.

The adventure continues

Gathering up blankets from Canyon Creek. With the help of the staff . I am so blessed to work for a company that is willing to share with others.

Gathering up more shoes and clothing this time. Making sandwiches on Monday morning with Jordan. Thinking about who will be eating one that day. Saying a prayer for them, and thanking God that we can go and encourage them with a meal.

Arrive at Russ’s home by 1pm.. The day started out raining but we were excited to see the sun break through when it was time to head to LA. As we packed up the sandwiches in to go bags we got better acquainted with our new group members. How awesome it is to share the experiences with new friends. It is great to see more catch the fever…

Once the car was packed we were off and running,, deciding exactly where to stop.. as we went. It worked out perfect with 2 parking spots right next to each other.

People started coming immediately to see what we were up too..

We spread out with our jobs planned in advance and got busy,

As I laid out the shoes in a long row people started asking for different ones and different sizes..

tennis shoes were wanted the most. Mostly men were at our location. And we ran out of the tennis shoes first.

The food was given out and disappeared the fastest.

sandwiches, string cheese, cookies and fruit …

They all wanted water and juice.. More food would be helpful for future trips .. never will I throw anything away again with out a way to share with someone .

I was pulled to a women who came by and exchanged her shoes for some new ones.. how unlike myself where I have 20 pairs of shoes that I would not want to part with. She found a pair that fit, thanked me and moved along. Her shoes were taken by someone else that came along..

Some were very appreciative and made sure they thanked us. Before they walked along.

My heart is pleased, but not full.. the mission must continue

There are more that need a helping hand.

Be the change you want to see in the world
